“If you don’t start somewhere, you’ll never get anywhere. If you don’t step forward, you are always in the same place. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never get it.”
After 32 years of marriage, raising two wonderful children, and now having a empty nest, I’ve decided to make some changes in my life and follow my passion of sewing. I started sewing in high school, in Home Economics. After getting married at 18, I started doing sewing and alterations. I made most of my clothes, as well as my children’s. When my children went to school I went back to work as a seamstress in two different garment manufacturing businesses. I currently work full time as the Office Manager of Uniform Express, because of this experience I am able to understand the operations of running a business.
The dream of owning my own business, and doing what I love began after my children received a Memory Bear for Christmas last year, made from their Papaw
McDaniel’s shirts. I decided making Memory Bears would be an opportunity to follow my passion of sewing and to help others turn their memories into keepsakes.
So welcome to Memory Lane Boutique, we are open for business.
**As of January 2015 I was able to quit my job as office manager and now I make Memory Bears and other keepsake items full time. My dream came true, remember…. Don’t let your dreams become dreams.
